Sonic nozzle technology has come a long way. Since its inception in 1993, sonic nozzle proving has become the de facto standard for meter measurement. This advanced prover technology operates on the principle of constant volumetric air flow through a nozzle at the speed of sound.
With increasing demand for utility companies to provide consistent return on investment (ROI) strategies, the Sonicine™ Sonic Nozzle Prover from EEI is the most efficient solution available today. Our development staff has established the criteria by which all other provers are measured. Close integration with EEI's Meter Management System® (MMS) is the key to the powerful set of measurement tools and indexing ability possesed by the Sonicnine.
The feature-rich set of tools provides our customers with real time access to information that ordinarily could take days to assemble. The use of the AIMS™ (Automated Internal Motion Sensor) and optical sensors provide absolute testing reliability.
The EEI Sonic Nozzle Prover is a specialized industrial control system for testing gas meters. The system uses a PC to operate the prover and communicate the test results to the MMS database. It uses the principles of sonic flow to measure the volume of air that passes through a gas meter and caculate the meter's accuracy. A meter proof is displayed on the prover screen and can be communicated to a database or stored locally on the prover.
The prover uses a Microsoft Windows® workstation to run the prover program that displays and communicates the test data. The prover operator can also use the prover workstation to run other Windows programs like email, online help, or MMS reports. |
